Multiplier Slots

Multipliers increase slot wins by a set factor, applied to single wins, whole spins or bonus rounds, and can be fixed, random or progressive.

How Slot Multipliers Work

A multiplier increases a win by a fixed factor: a 2x multiplier doubles the payout, a 10x multiplier makes it ten times larger. Multipliers can apply to a single winning line or cluster, to the total win of a spin, or to every win during a bonus round, and the rules of each game define exactly what they affect.

They come from different sources. Some are attached to symbols, some appear at random, and others grow step by step, for instance with each cascade in a chain or each free spin that lands a win.

Common Types

Fixed multipliers always use the same value, while random multipliers draw a value from a range. Progressive or increasing multipliers climb during a sequence and may reset afterwards; persistent ones keep their value for a whole bonus round. When several multipliers apply to one win, games either add them together or multiply them by each other, which makes a large difference to the final payout.

Multipliers on Grid Games

Grid slots with Tumble & Cascading Reels often tie multipliers to the grid itself or to special symbols. In Reactoonz, four matching symbols in a square merge into a giant symbol, and any win containing one is doubled. A multiplier changes the size of a payout, not how often wins happen.
