Wild Symbols Slots
Wild symbols substitute for regular symbols to complete wins, with variations such as sticky, expanding, multiplier, random and giant wilds.
What Wild Symbols Do
A wild symbol substitutes for other symbols to complete or extend a win. On a payline slot it fills a gap in a line; on a grid game it can link two groups of matching symbols into one larger winning cluster. Most wilds replace every regular symbol but not special ones such as scatters or bonus triggers, and the exact exceptions are listed in each game’s rules.
Some wilds also pay on their own when several of them line up, while others have no value of their own and only work as substitutes. The paytable of each game shows which type it uses.
Common Variations
The basic wild is the starting point for many modified versions: sticky wilds stay in place for several spins, expanding wilds grow to cover a whole reel, and multiplier wilds boost the win they complete. Random Wilds are added to the grid by a feature rather than landing naturally, and giant wilds occupy a block of positions at once.
Wilds on Cluster Grids
On Cluster Pays grids a wild can join several clusters at the same time, since it counts as a matching symbol for each neighbouring group. In Reactoonz, wilds come mainly from features: a giant 3×3 wild that breaks into smaller wilds, and modifiers that turn regular symbols into wilds.
